Who We Are

Lazos Al Futuro, which translates to ties to the future, supports student leaders in the Dominican Republic throughout high school by providing academic supplies, empowering programming, counseling, mentorship, and more. Our mission is to remove as many barriers of entry to vulnerable student leaders in the Dominican Republic that prevent them from graduating high school. Our vision is to improve graduation rates to bridge the equity gap in the Dominican Republic and continue to foster leadership opportunities for youth leaders in the country.

Lazos Al Futuro provides year-round programming to 30 student leaders involved in the program in the northeast region of the Dominican Republic. Currently, the organization has two operating locations in Santiago and Luperon, Puerto Plata.

Our Services

  • We provide discussions with experts that make our student leaders more well-rounded. From financial literacy training to health and wellness, our team hosts monthly meetings that broaden our students' perspective of the world around them.

  • All Lazos Al Futuro leaders are paired with a mentor to identify and track their career goals and aspirations. We believe that if you can see it, you can be it.

  • A foundational area for Lazos Al Futuro is community outreach. Lazos Al Futuro makes a difference in our student leaders and empowers them to be active community members. As we pour into them, we want them also to give back to others. We are firm believes that you lead from where you are.

  • In July 2023, Lazos Al Futuro will host the first summer camp in Santiago, Dominican Republic. The camp will host all 30 youth members and focus on honing their goals for the next two years leading to Lazos Al Futuro's first graduation. The camp will be three days and include activities, panels, and community service.
